Accessibility
How to adapt this website to your needs, which keyboard shortcuts it has, and how to let us know if you find a barrier.
On this page
01Commitment
We want everyone to be able to learn about our equipment and get in touch with us. We design and review this website with the goal of meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
This is a working goal, not a certification: the website has not been audited by an external body. We review every change with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom and automated tools, and fix what we find.
02Available options
Light and dark theme
By default the website follows your device's colour mode (Automatic). With the “Theme” button in the footer, or in the menu on mobile, you can set Light or Dark. Your choice is stored in a necessary cookie for one year.
High contrast
If you turn on high contrast in your operating system (or Windows forced colours), the website switches to a black background with a single colour for text, borders and icons. It takes priority over the light or dark theme and, when you turn it off, your previous theme comes back.
The palette selector appears here when high contrast is turned on in your system.
Reduced motion
If your system asks to reduce motion, we turn off transitions and smooth scrolling. The website has no auto-playing carousels or videos.
Reflow and zoom
You can zoom up to 400% or use a window 320 pixels wide: the content rearranges into a single column without horizontal scrolling. The smallest text is at least 15 pixels.
Keyboard
Everything can be used with a keyboard and focus is always visible. At the start of every page there are skip links: “Skip to content”, “Skip to menu” and “Accessibility options”.
Structure
Each page has a single main heading, ordered headings and labelled regions (header, navigation, content and footer), so screen readers can jump between them.
Direct access
The keyboard shortcuts in the next section take you to the most used areas from any page.
03Keyboard navigation
| Action | Windows / Linux | macOS |
|---|---|---|
| Go to the home page | Alt + 1 | Ctrl + ⌥ + 1 |
| Go to the main content | Alt + 2 | Ctrl + ⌥ + 2 |
| Skip to menu | Alt + 3 | Ctrl + ⌥ + 3 |
| Go to contact | Alt + 4 | Ctrl + ⌥ + 4 |
| Switch between light and dark (with high contrast: open the palettes) | Alt + 5 | Ctrl + ⌥ + 5 |
| Go to this accessibility page | Alt + 6 | Ctrl + ⌥ + 6 |
Common controls
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tab / Mayús + Tab | Moves to the next or previous element. |
| Intro | Opens a link or presses a button. |
| Espacio | Presses a button or ticks a checkbox. |
| ← → | Switches tabs in “Upcoming models”. |
| Esc | Closes the mobile menu or the cookie notice (once you have chosen). |
Some browsers or screen readers use the same combinations; in that case your software's shortcut takes priority.
04Improvement history
| Date | Improvement |
|---|---|
| Light, dark and automatic theme; system high contrast with four palettes; skip links; keyboard shortcuts; reduced motion support; 15-pixel minimum text size; keyboard-accessible cookie notice; print version. | |
| Website redesign: mobile-friendly menu, “Upcoming models” tabs operable with arrow keys and a contact form with visible labels. |
05Known limitations
We know there are still things to improve:
- Some sections with the brand's grey-blue background have white text with a contrast below 4.5:1. If you find them hard to read, dark mode or system high contrast shows them with more contrast.
- Some upcoming models do not have a photo yet; a box with their name appears instead.
- The Kit Digital funding logos are shown as images with alternative text, without a full text version.
- Third-party documents linked from the website (data sheets, studies) may not be accessible.
